Counterstream’s Story Studio is where we develop and host project-based storytelling.
We bring together long-form reporting, narrative journeys, and collaborative media projects that are co-created with a wide range of partners and producers.
Each Story Studio project takes a distinct form—investigative reporting, documentary, toolkit, or resource—but all are guided by Counterstream’s approach to storytelling as a shared practice and intended to circulate beyond a single platform or moment.

The Margin
The Margin’s stories expose the ongoing cycle of unjust actions that intentionally push the poor and people of color to the edge of society while driving our planet to the brink of collapse. Every story in The Margin combines personal narratives with data analysis and visualizations.

Power In The Storm
Made in partnership with NAACP, Power in the Storm is a 70-page toolkit filled with resources, knowledge, strategies, and organizing tools needed to build resilience, demand equity, and hold all levels of government accountable.

Leaning on the essence of Freedom Rides, Solidarity Rides are experiences led by environmental justice leaders who bring allies together to face environmental injustices in their communities.
