Pitch Us

Counterstream is committed to amplifying the voices and perspectives of people too often excluded from conversations about climate and environmental justice.

We are currently accepting story pitches for our Peace & Riot magazine and guest suggestions for our award-winning podcast, A People’s Climate.

Please allow our team up to two weeks to respond to your email. If we do not respond within 14 business days, you can assume we are not going to pursue your idea at this time.

What We're Looking For

Pitch to Peace & Riot

Our climate and environmental justice magazine spotlights climate leadership where it actually lives — in communities, on the frontlines, and in the culture.

To pitch a story, email hello@counterstream.org with the subject line: “P&R Story Pitch.”

Counterstream pays contributors for accepted pitches to our Peace & Riot magazine. Pay rates vary from issue to issue and are negotiated upon your story being accepted by our editorial team. If your pitch is accepted, we will reach out to you directly with next steps.

Suggest a Guest for A People’s Climate

Our award-winning podcast distributed by The Nation features climate conversations about real, grassroots action that puts power back in the hands of the people.

To suggest a guest for a future episode of A People’s Climate, email hello@counterstream.org with the subject line: “APC Guest Suggestion.”

Please be sure to listen to a few of our episodes before submitting your pitch. Unrelated guest suggestions will not be considered.

Counterstream does not offer pay for suggesting a podcast guest.
