NDN Collective is suing the National Forest Service
NDN Collective, Black Hills Clean Water Alliance, and Earthworks filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Forest Service on April 1 for its February decision to grant a permit for exploratory drilling in Pe’ Sla, a sacred and protected Indigenous site.
USDA funding cuts leave Black farmers out to dry
An estimated $300 million was cut from the Increasing Land, Capital, and Market Access Program, which provided grants to nonprofit and tribal organizations. “This is the worst I’ve seen in my 43-year career of Black hate in your face,” said John Boyd Jr., activist and founder of the National Black Farmers Association. “We’re going to have to band together and push back.” Read more
